The "Friends of IHP" association organises a popular scientific lecture from IHP's range of topics twice a year. The lectures will be given by renowned scientists. Admission to this series of events is free of charge.

Dr. Steffen Ortmann, Science Coordinator at the Medical University of Lusatia – Carl Thiem in Cottbus and Head of Thiem-Research GmbH

Contents:

A technological and scientific healthcare region is emerging in Cottbus. At its heart is the newly founded Medical University of Lusatia – Carl Thiem. With research priorities that are unique in Germany and the model region “Health Lusatia,” new technologies for the healthcare of the future are to be developed and tested.
The presentation will introduce the newly emerging structures and areas of focus and highlight the Science Council's vision for developing Lusatia into the place to be for digital healthcare and why micro and communication technologies play a crucial role in this.
