Goals of the association
The "Friends of IHP" association promotes and supports IHP - Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics in Frankfurt (Oder) in realising its goals on the foundation of innovative, cosmopolitan and multicultural research.
The association is also particularly committed to:
- the development of the region as a location for high technologies;
- supporting the training of young researchers;
- expanding co-operation with science and industry;
- integrating new, especially foreign employees into the life of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) and the state of Brandenburg.
How does the support association help?
- The association invites internationally recognised specialists to give lectures on new developments in fields that are closely related to IHP's research areas and the regional economy.
More - Since 2001, the association has awarded an annual Brandenburg-wide prize for outstanding scientific project work to pupils in grades 9 to 12.
More - Since 2005, the association has awarded an annual nationwide prize for outstanding Bachelor's and Master's theses written at IHP or dealing with an IHP research topic.

History of the support association
The "Friends of IHP" association was founded in June 2000. Its founding members include citizens interested in microelectronics and with ties to the Frankfurt (Oder) region as well as IHP scientists.
